The Gander International Airport Authority Inc. is looking for a winter heavy equipment operator (Mobile Device Operator) with the following qualifications and experience:
- Experience operating various heavy equipment (front-end loaders, speed plows, and tandem axle dump trucks).
- Experience in the provision of snow and ice control services.
- Experience in conducting routine equipment inspections and basic heavy equipment operator maintenance.
- The successful candidate must have a Class 3 driver’s licence with an air brake endorsement.
- The successful candidate must provide proof of high school graduation.
- The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a team and must be able to work shifts, weekends and overtime.
- The successful candidate will report directly to the Field Foreman.
- The successful candidate must be able to obtain a valid radio operator’s license.
- The successful candidate must hold or be able to obtain a transportation security clearance.
- The successful candidate may be required to complete Airport Firefighter certification training successfully.
- This is a 16-week, term position.
- Salary and benefits will be as per the current collective agreement.
